چکیده

Abstract Herein, a high strain of ∼0.3% with small hysteresis 43% is achieved at low electric field 4 kV/mm in the highly <001>-textured 0.97(0.76Bi 0.5 Na TiO 3 −0.24SrTiO )−0.03NaNbO (BNT−ST−0.03NN) ceramics an ergodic relaxor (ER) state, leading to large normalized ( d 33 *) 720 pm/V. The introduction NN templates into BNT−ST induces grain orientation growth and enhances ergodicity. BNT−ST−0.03NN display pure state coexisted ferroelectric $$R\bar 3c$$ R 3 ¯ c antiferroelectric P4bm polar nanoregions (PNRs) on nanoscale. Moreover, due incomplete interdiffusion between template matrix, textured present core-shell structure core, thus BNT-based matrix owns more PNRs relative homogeneous nontextured samples. <001> crystallographic texture both facilitate relaxor-to-ferroelectric transition, low-field-driven strain, while ensures hysteresis. Furthermore, * value remains up 518 pm/V 100 °C ultra-low 6%.

Microstructure and high-temperature strength of textured and non-textured ZrB2 ceramics

Zirconium diboride (ZrB2) ceramic possesses a unique combination of nice mechanical performance, high melting point (> 3000 °C) and great high-temperature oxidation resistance (up to 1600 °C), which makes it a promising material system for ever-increasing ultra-high temperature (UHT) applications. However, ZrB2 suffers from poor mechanical performance at UHTs, which could strongly limit its app...

Pyroelectric energy conversion using PLZT ceramics and the ferroelectric–ergodic relaxor phase transition

This paper is concerned with direct conversion of waste heat into electricity by executing the Olsen cycle on lead lanthanum zirconate titanate (PLZT) ceramics undergoing a relaxor–ferroelectric phase transition. The Olsen cycle consists of two isothermal and two isoelectric field processes. First, the temperature-dependent dielectric properties were measured for x/65/35 PLZT. The polarization ...

Ethanol-based Tape Casting Process of the Textured Bi0.5(Na0.80K0.20)0.5TiO3-BiFeO3 Ceramics

The rheological and tape casting behavior of ethanol-based Bi0.5(Na0.80K0.20)0.5TiO3-7 mol% BiFeO3 (BNKT-BF) slurries was investigated. The effect of sintering temperature profile on texture development with a preferred orientation was also studied. A 50 MPa pressure assisted three step sintering profile promoted extensive texture development together with densification. The role of BF as a sin...

Relaxor properties of Ba0.9Bi0.067(Ti1–xZrx)O3 ceramics

Starting from the well-known ferroelectric material BaTiO3, we show that coupled substitutions at the Ba and Ti cationic sites are able to improve the material properties. The compositions Ba0.9Bi0.067(Ti1−xZrx)O3 display a relaxor behaviour close to room temperature which open the way for possible use of it for capacitor applications. The origin of such optimization is related to the Bi cation...

Dielectric nonlinearity of relaxor ferroelectric ceramics at low ac drives

Dielectric nonlinear response of (PbMg1/3Nb2/3O3)0.9(PbTiO3)0.1 (0.9PMN0.1PT) relaxor ceramics was investigated under different ac drive voltages. It was observed that: (i) the dielectric permittivity is independent on ac field amplitude at high temperatures; (ii) with increasing ac drive, the permittivity maximum increases, and the temperature of the maximum shifts to lower temperature; (iii) ...
